Seçkin Uz was born in 1982 in Çanakkale. After completing his secondary and high school education at Yeşilköy Anatolian High School, he graduated from Istanbul Technical University with a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.

Seçkin Uz began his professional career in 2007 at Berg Propulsion in Singapore, immediately after graduation. Between 2008 and 2010, he took part in the establishment and development of the company’s newly opened offices in Turkey and Sweden. From 2010 to 2013, he served as Managing Director of the Singapore office.

In 2014, Seçkin Uz was appointed Managing Director responsible for Caterpillar Marine’s operations in Istanbul and Dubai. In 2016, his role expanded to Regional Manager for the Middle East, Africa, and India, covering both medium-speed (MaK) and high-speed (CAT) engine segments. Between 2017 and 2018, he was based in Dubai as Global Technical Sales Manager, where he led multicultural teams across a wide geographical range, from China to the United States.

In 2019, Seçkin Uz served as CEO of Al Hail Marine Services, an Abu Dhabi-based company with Singaporean partnership, gaining valuable experience in ship ownership and operations. He returned to Turkey in 2020 and, in 2021, took on the role of Shipyard Manager at Ada Shipyard. Since January 2022, he has been serving as Managing Director of SCHOTTEL GmbH’s Turkey office.

In May 2023, Seçkin Uz was appointed Chairman of the Board at Elkon. In early 2024, he assumed the role of Managing Director of Elkon, and since June 28, 2024, he has also been serving as a Member of the Board of Directors. As of April 2026, he holds the position of Vice Chairman of the Board at Elkon.

Seçkin Uz is a certified trainer in the “StrengthsFinder” (Gallup, 2015) and “Personal Leadership” (Penny Ferguson, 2016) programs and has delivered training sessions to numerous groups. He has a strong interest in meeting new people and experiencing different cultures.

Seçkin Uz is married and has two children.
